Digi.City Connects: Birmingham | 12/6/18
Smaller cities are doing big things when it comes to integrating connected technology to create stronger communities. On Thursday, December 6, Digi.City hosted a discussion about Birmingham’s Smart Cities initiative. Birmingham has built solid partnerships between The City, University of Alabama Birmingham and Alabama Power and is now extending from that position of strength to address their local opportunities and challenges.
The Birmingham roundtable included:
George Stegall, connectivity manager with Alabama Power;
Yuval Yoseffy, data management specialist with the city of Birmingham’s Department of Innovation and Economic Opportunity;
Deon Gordon, CEO of TechBirmingham;
Dr. Anthony Hood, director of Civic Innovation at UAB; and
Mashonda Taylor, chief community relations officer for the Woodlawn Foundation.
