Digi.City partnered with The University of Tampa Lowth Entrepreneurship Center to host a discussion on Tampa's smart city efforts.
It was an honor to welcome Mayor Bob Buckhorn who reinforced his commitment to see Tampa emerge as a top smart city and haven for entrepreneurs. Following Mayor Buckhorn's remarks, a panel of top Tampa leaders discussed the role of cooperation among government, industry and communities and examined the social and economic benefits of 21st century digital infrastructure. These leaders are creating the entrepreneurial ecosystem that will fuel Tampa's emergence as a digital city.
Tampa recently became the first US city to partner with Tesla on a unique mile/last mile public transportation project. They are also one of the first US cities to incorporate Waze into their city-wide transportation strategy, They have a strong entrepreneurship scene and have been ranked one of the 25 Hottest Cities for Startups and one of the Best Cities for Creatives to Live.
