Hundreds gather at SXSW for the panel: Wireless Network Innovation: Smart City Foundation

Some of the nation’s leading Smart City voices - Mayor Kasim Reed, Michelle Robinson (Verizon), Joe Kochan (US Ignite), Howard Wright (Intel) and Chelsea Collier (Digi.City) - gathered to discuss the most recent smart city developments including #PAWR, a program that will deploy $100 million to cities that will fund wireless network research and infrastructure investment. Atlanta Mayor Reed provided insight on the experience of a city leader tasked with visioning and achieving smart city status. Executives Kathleen Grillo (Verizon) and Howard Wright (Intel) gave advice as to what smart city technology can do and actionable next steps.  Joe Kochan with US Ignite provided a wide lens perspective of US cities large and small, outlining available resources.
